Life Changer

Today is day 3 of my incredible new job.

at

Red Hat !!!!

Yep, I started Wednesday. I'm the newest TAM (Technical Account Manager). I'll be working from home and I'm really looking forward to it. I've already started getting parts in from RH for my home office. Like this Polycom IP phone sitting on the floor that I haven't yet connected.

Yesterday, I spent the day in the Richmond office getting my accounts setup and starting to learn some of the ins and outs with two fellow TAMs from Richmond.

Next week is 4 days in Raleigh at the Red Hat Tower for on boarding and indoctrinations.

Hoping to be able to keep this better updated here in the future, so stay tuned.

In the mean time

I was contacted by Drupal Connect a few weeks back to help them with one of thier clients who needed a security audit. Fun times. I've been working it pretty hard at a good rate. The DC guys are great to work with too. More details later.

Advanced Router Lab

Another project I set my self on a few weeks ago, is the Advanced Router Lab project. The idea is similar to GNS bench, but more updated, flexible and expandable. I want to create an RPM repo to install GNS3 and any possible associated packages. I also want to create packages for different labs which include scripts for setting up the system to support the lab. (ie any special vlans or routing to make the lab work correctly. ) Anyone interested in helping, speak up.

A return?

So I started this blog with a great intent. But time wasn't on my side. It's now 5 years later. I've two beautiful daughters, a new job, and a new home. I'm also getting serious about my geekdom. In the new job, my primary responsibility is penetration testing and security analysis of new systems. White and black box testing. So far, all I've done is paperwork and planning, which is a big part of being a good Pen Tester. Hopefully I'll soon be making some trips and doing some serious testing. Just for fun, my latest VPS is running kippo. It's a simple SSH honeypot. So far, nothing interesting, but I'll post some logs here as they get fun.

Intro

So this is my new blog. My second blog to be precise. I frequently want to write Truly geek things, but most of the readers and the intent of immauss.blogspot.com, is for my family. Most of them aren't really interested in the geeky things that I do. Thus is born a new blog.
